Have you ever created a protagonist that you find yourself falling in love with instead of hating? Call me weird but I love when that happens. Maybe I'm a sucker for the underdog, or maybe I just love challenging the mind. Whatever the case, I say,,, "You GO protagonist"
Have a fabulous Memorial Day,,, and don't let your protagonist get in your way,,, :-)
Any author who has written about the Regency era, also knows how close the time line coincides with the Victorian era. Being faced with the issues of what your characters should and should not wear, or the changes in vocabulary. There is an amazing amount of research material out there to help us in our plight. But wouldn't it be fantastic to just step back in time and enjoy one evening at the Royal Pavilion, or take a ride in a gig curricle with your one and only...... Awww,, the imagination can go on and on!
Today is the seconda day of my weekend. Yahooooooo,,, Hopefully I'll get in a few hours of writing time.
Sit back, sip a cool glass of iced tea (or a frozen margarita) whichever I'm in the mood for,,,, eat some yummy Mexican food with a few friends and dream about that illusive love scene that keeps managing to escape me.
Have a great day, and here's one for the road,,,,,,,,
So this year, I celebrate my 30th Anniversary... Or so I think it's my 30th. it might be my 29th or maybe my 31st.
You see, when I got married I didn't care what day it was, what month it was, what year it was. because honestly, I married the man of my dreams. I know it's this month because, well, thats when we went to Reno all those years ago and said I DO. It's either on the 28th or maybe the 27th. I lost my wedding certificate years ago in a car crash when i was moving to Alaska, and never bothered to replace it. What it really boils down to is this,,,, my anniversary is fun every year because I celebrate it with the the man I chose all those years ago to live and die with. If god is good to us, we will hopefully have 30 more.
With that said,,, I would like to say a BIG happy anniversary to two special friends. "Cara & Dennis Cunnigs" Happy 30Th ((today is your day)),, and we know it's yours............... Love ya!!!
Lately, I’ve found myself writing my romance novels from the hero’s POV. Not that that is really odd. But it made me think about other authors and how they write. One of my favorite romance authors is ‘Lisa Kleypas’. I love most of her books, but steer more toward her regencies. I have read books where she writes in the hero’s POV and visa-versa. In either case, I think she is fabulous at making the switch. It is an art for sure. One I hope to master.
Along another line, what do you think about attitude when it comes to characters? Have you ever just despised a character for their attitude? Or not been able to fall in love with a character because of their attitude? Was it the hero or the heroin? How do we actually judge a character when they have an attitude we just do not like. I mean, if I like the book, I will finish the story and understand that a characters attitude is part of what makes him or her interesting, despised or both . I suppose it all boils down to the complete story. Before judging a characters attitude, we really do have to wait until the end.

Writing about mythical creatures can be challenging. After all, it's not that easy to create romance between a human and a gargoyle. But I do admit that the process is fun.
The recent loss of my mother-in-law was difficult for me and my entire family. It set me back a few weeks in my writing, which was fine because I used the time to reflect on her, and how much she meant to my life. She WILL be missed.
I am excited to have met a really awesome, talented person whom I hope to have produce my next book trailers and possibly my book covers. Her work is fantastic, and I think she will do a great job.
