Unconditional Love! Do you understand what it is?

All of us have them!

Those family members, friends or acquaintances  who choose to judge us, or not accept who we are or our way of life. I happen to have a wonderful family who accepts me, and who I am. I love them unconditionally and always will. Unfortunately though, I do know people who don't have this in their own lives. So today I found this definition on the internet and wanted to share it.

A Definition of Unconditional Love

Love without condition

I love you as you are, as you seek to find your own special way to relate to the world, or the way you feel that is right for you. It is important that you are the person you want to be and not someone that I or others think you should be.

I realize that I cannot know what is best for you although perhaps sometimes I think I do. I've not been where you have been, viewing life from that angle you have, I do not know what you have chosen to learn, how you have chosen to learn it, with whom, or in what time period. I have not walked through life looking through your eyes, so how can I know what you need.

I allow you to be in the world without a thought or word of judgment from me about the deeds you undertake. I see no error in the things you say and do, in this place where I am. I see that there are many ways to perceive and experience the different facets of our world. I allow without reservation the choices you make in each moment.

I make no judgment of this for if I were to deny your right to evolution, then I would deny that right to myself and all others. To those who would choose a way I cannot walk, whilst I may not choose to add my power and my energy to this way, I will never deny you the gift of love that God has bestowed within me for all creation, as I love you so I shall be loved; as I sow, so I shall reap.

I allow you the universal right of free will to walk your own path, creating steps or to sit a while if that is what is right for you. I will make no judgment of these steps, whether they are large or small, nor light or heavy or that they lead up or down, for this is just my viewpoint. I see you do nothing and might judge it to be unworthy. And yet, it may be that you bring great healing as you stand blessed by the light of God.

I cannot always see the higher picture of divine order. For it is the inalienable right of all life to choose their own evolution and with great love I acknowledge your right to determine your future. In humility I bow to the realization that the way I see is best for me does not have to mean that it is also right for you. I know that you are led as I am following the inner excitement to know your own path.

I know that the many races, religions, customs, nationalities and beliefs within our world bring us great richness and allow us the benefit of teachings of such diverseness. I know we each learn in our own unique way in order to bring that love and wisdom back to the whole. I know that if there were only one way to do something, there would need to be only one person. I will not only love you if you behave in a way I think you should, or believe in those things I believe in. I understand you are truly my brother and sister though you may have been born in a different place and believe in another God than I.

The love I feel is for all of God's world. I know that every living thing is part of God and I feel a love deep within every person, and every tree, and flower, every bird, river, ocean and for all the creatures in all the world. I live my life in loving service being the best me I can, becoming wiser in the perfection of divine truth, becoming happier in the joy of unconditional love.

I"m finished!!!! "Brindie Spearman - Pop Princess" is done!!!

OMG, I am so happy to share with my friends. Tonight, just now! I finished my second erotica novella.
This one is called "Pop Princess - Brindie Spearman" and YES, it is what you think it is.
I have some edits to do, and hope to get done with them as soon as next week. then a synopsis and query. Then, I'll submit it.
I have to say, this one was fun. Not because of my connection to Kevin, but because it was truly amazing to write something that the world will get a kick out of. If you like erotica, I am sure, you will like this. A look into the world of pop, hmmmmmm....
Have a nice night, :-)

The Overlanders Bride

*************************
Romance on the Overland Trail (Oregon Trail) would seem to most observers as non-existent. In fact, it was a part of everyday life for the emigrants, our ancestors. Along with the perils of travel in a small farm wagon for four to six month Polly Sawyer is a spoiled rich girl from the lush farmlands of Missouri in 1862. Daughter to an influential and charismatic man who owns the area’s largest steamship business, Polly is forced to run away from home after she is betrothed to a man that she does not love. Disguised as a gentleman so she can travel without being married, Polly secures travel with a wagon train bound for the Oregon territory. Joshua Adams is trail captain and second cousin to Polly’s fiancĂ©, a pious man built with a strong will of determination and sweat. Imagine Joshua’s amusement when he learned that one of the men on his train is a woman. Nearly two weeks into the trail, Joshua is convinced the only way to ensure Polly’s safety and her return to his cousin, is to marry her. In an ironic twist of fate, Polly finds herself married to a man she does not love. The very thing she ran away from home to avoid, she now faces. Follow Polly and Joshua through their adventures across the frontier as their marriage of convenience blossoms into romance on the Overland Trail.

911

Today I sat and watched several shows on TV recounting the terror of 911.
And like ten years ago, I felt as if my heart was being torn from my chest.
Such a sad time for so many people.
But today I was also reminded of the many reasons I am so PROUD of my country.
The eyewitness accounts that I watched today showed me a pictures of true heroism.
No matter who we are, what color we are, what sex we are, what religion we are, or whatever profession we chose, ALL of us stood together as Americas, and became one.
AMERICA!!! I am so proud to be part of you....

Finished

Isn't she cute?
Reminds me of the fairies on True Blood.
I wonder if they read romance!
**********
Good news! I finished my new W.I.P.
"Dagger's Lust"
I have a few edits to put on it, and then I can start pitching it after I get the query and synopsis done.
"Dagger's Lust" is my first erotic romance novella. And I have to admit, with a little bit of conceit, that I did a good job with this one. Its fantasy filled, with werewolves, dragons and witches.
****
My husband says I've gone to the dark side. hahaha,,, in reality he truly does like the story. It's amazing the types of issues one has to deal with when deciding to write erotica, but actually, it was fun. I can't wait to start a new one. Lots of ideas, just itching to get put down on paper.

News and Info

At my group meeting with Yosemite Romance Writers yesterday, we listened to Donald Maass. He was at the 2010 RWA conference. If you've never had the chance to hear his lessons, make sure you take the time at the next conference. You can also go on line to his web-site to get locations where he will be having his workshops. I definitely plan on attending if he's going to be at the 2012 RWA conference in Anaheim.

Its Sunday, so have a great day. It's lovely outside, and he evenings are getting nice. Fall is just around the corner, one of most favorite times of the year.

Congratulations to Kevin and Victoria. Jordan was born on Monday. Watch for their story in People Magazine. Another great niece, how fun. :-)

Have a relaxed day,,

Stress,,,,, "Got It?"

STRESS
A young lady confidently walked around the room while explaining stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone was sure she was going to ask the ultimate question: 'Half empty or half full?' However, she fooled them all.
"How heavy is this glass of water?" she inquired with a smile.

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

She replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

She continued, "That's the way it is with stress. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on."

"As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden -- holding stress longer and better each time. So, as early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don't carry them through the evening and into the night.... Pick them up tomorrow.

"Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment. Relax; pick them up later after you've rested. Life is short. Enjoy it and the now 'supposed' stress that you've conquered!"

1 * Accept the fact that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue!

2 * Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

3 * Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

4 * Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their Maker.

5 * If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

6 * If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

7 * It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

8 * Never buy a car you can't push.

9 * Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.

10 * Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

11 * Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.

12 * The second mouse gets the cheese.

13 * When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

14 * Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.

15 * You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.

16 * Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.

17 * We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty, and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.

18 * A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

19 * Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today.

20 * It was I, your friend!

*Save the earth: it's the only planet with chocolate!*

As Parents & grandparents......

As parents and grandparents we should always,,,,

  1. Be the mosquito repellent they need to keep the bugs (bad-guys) away.
  2. Keep them on the same pedestal as the one you put them on the day they were born. If you thought they were smart then, they are just as smart or more so when they are twenty.
  3.  Never change your vision of them.
  4.  Encourage them to succeed.
  5. Don't have them unless you are willing to make sacrifices.
  6.  Kiss them good morning and good night.
  7. Never be jealous of them.
  8. Encourage them to do better than you.
  9. School and homework are not an option, they are a requirement. Even if your parents did not make it yours.
  10. Love and respect them. Spoil them,,,, in the good ways.
************************************************************
I have two kids and four grand kids. I love them all very much. I respect them and their choices and I know the feelings are mutual. So I guess I'M BRAGGING,,,, Thanks for letting me.

Have an awesome day,

Woes

Wrapped up in the woes of erotica. Good grief, it cant be that hard ((Pun))
But seriously, it is. And I would imagine that writing erotica is for most authors of romance, one of their greatest challenges. Not the romance, or the story building, but the actual scene. ((you know what I mean))
My books might not end up with the most dog eared pages on my readers book shelves. But I had fun trying and learning along the way.
Have a fun day,
Diane

Fantasy,,, or not!

Who likes fantasy romance?
I know it is a hot topic within the romance genre nowadays, and I was wondering what readers thought about it. Are you getting sick of Vampires and Werewolves?
Lets not include "True Blood" because I'm pretty hooked on that series. But what about others.
Let me know... I'm gathering opinions for my new project.

Have a nice Saturday,

Maya Banks

I'm reading "Coulter's Woman: Coulter's Legacy" by Maya Banks.
I'm stuck on one word WOW...

Mind you, this book is erotica, so don't take my response as my way of telling you to read it. But, for those of you out there who like erotica, this is a fun book. Maya Banks is a master.

Yesterday I added Facebook pages for all of my books. Even my January 2012 release "Crystal Dreams" I hope you will all take the time to LIKE, each page. Visit my web-site for the like buttons, or just visit me on Facebook.

Gotta Love that 'Harper"

Harper felt his pride swell, amongst other things. “God, do you know what a spitfire you are? Jonas could never have kept up with you. Why, I don’t even know if I can.” He closed the space between them then tilted her chin upward with his forefinger. Her eyes dilated and widened when he bent down and kissed her gently on her pink lips, but she didn’t pull away. “You see, Chantel, when two people are as attracted physically to one another as we are, nothing else matters. Physically and mentally we are matched and god only knows how we’re going to get though this, but we will. Wait until my aunt meets you; she’ll be begging me to marry you.”

And More Snippets.....

Harper stood in the shadows of the hotel patio and watched the mayor of Elkhorn drive her buggy past him. He was well hidden in the dark, and was glad she didn’t notice him as she drove by. He’d been coming to Elkhorn Pass for the last two years and had actually only lived at gold center for a few months but had never stopped in the town of Elk-horn until tonight. He took a long drag off his cigar then threw it to the ground before squashing it under his boot. “Lady Aubuchon, Mayor of Elkhorn. A challenge I look for-ward to,” he drawled slowly from deep in his throat. He watched her until she was no longer visible under the moonlit night before he went back inside to join the others. He’d been on his way to deliver the gold, but now it would have to wait until he could build up more. The children would have to be patient; hell, he would have to be patient now. His schedule was beginning to stretch out further and further. His aunt would never release him from their agreement until the children were safe and secure. And neither would he

Little Snippets,,,

All he could see were her eyes, as dark as coal under-neath thick lashes that stared at him from behind her bandana. Her voice was deep and sultry, drawing him in the same way a black widow draws in her prey. Oh yes, this woman was deadly. No doubt about it, he would have to be careful if he wanted to live to see another day. Tipping his hat, he stepped forward cautiously. “Why yes, ma’am, my name is Harper Barnes.” He smiled when she took a step backward. “Pray tell! To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit on this fine day?”
Chantel scrutinized him. He was tall, lean and terribly handsome. Dressed in a pair of those new denim breeches from the East Coast she’d heard about and only seen in cata-logs from Mrs. Buckley’s shop. His gray eyes penetrated her, right down to her soul, making her feel as if he could read her mind. Pulling herself together and stepping back one more step, she answered his question. “Not that it makes any differ-ence to the likes of you, but you’ve taken what doesn’t belong
to you, Mr. Barnes. I’m just here to take it back to its rightful owners.”

Harper nearly slumped forward from the lash of her tongue. God, he longed to rip that bandanna from her face. “Oh, I see now. You must belong to the Sumpter gang. I didn’t know they had a woman riding with them.” He could tell she was frowning underneath her bandana. “What’s the going rate nowadays for a woman bandit? Five or ten dollars? Why, I bet the men get at least double that.”
“Shut-up!” Chantel yelled."

No Sale! :-(

Well, my father-in-laws e-bay items did not sell. But he's OK with that. We'll hold on to the items and maybe try it again in a year or so.

It really can be horrible how some people respond to things like this. When TMZ contacted us for the story, we said sure, why not. Out of 37 comments, 99% were derogatory.

The comments were really quite nasty. And very judgmental. I suppose we could have replied to all of those remarks with  some of our own. But why?  Our family's goal was to help out our father. If he could use the money for a nice trip or whatever he wanted,,, it is his right to do so.

Who's worse? The Prostitute, the one buying the prostitute or the pimp? Regardless of what we might think, it is not our place to judge. We don't know the story of any of them.  So until we are in their shoes, we need to keep our opinions to ourselves.

Thanks to everyone out there who considered the items. If, and when we ever decide to re-post them, I'll send a blog.

My best,

Diane Story
